How to configure a Third-party payer client ?

Some practitioners would like the third-party payer’s contact information (for example, an insurance provider) to appear on the invoice instead of the client’s details.

Recommended solution: create a client profile for each third-party payer

To ensure the correct contact information and email appear on the invoice, the recommended approach is to:

  1. Create a dedicated client profile for each third-party payer (e.g. an insurance provider).

  2. Enter the payer’s official contact details (name, address, email).

  3. Create and send invoices directly from this third-party payer client profile.

This ensures that:

  • The invoice displays the correct payer information

  • The invoice is sent to the right email address

  • Your billing records remain clear and compliant

Best practice

Think of third-party payers as billing entities, not just linked contacts.
Creating a dedicated client profile for each payer gives you full control over:

  • Invoice recipient

  • Contact information

  • Billing history and records
