Do events categorized as Busy or Other count toward the appointment limit?

Who is this article for?

This article is for practitioners who block time in their scheduler and want to know whether these events are counted in their plan, for example on the pay-as-you-go Starter plan.

Short answer: no. Events of the Busy and Other types are never counted as appointments and are never billed. You can use them freely, as often as necessary.

What are Busy and Other events?

Besides appointments with your clients, your scheduler can contain events of the Busy or Other type. They are commonly used, often as recurring events, to block off time slots: lunch break, administrative work, training, personal time. See How can I block time on my scheduler?

What it means for your plan

  • Not in your appointment count — Busy and Other events do not appear in the number of Appointments for the current period shown in the Plan tab. See How can I see the number of appointments I made during the current period?
  • Not billed — on the Starter plan, only appointments are billed $3 each. Busy and Other events cost nothing.
  • No effect on licenses — on the Practitioner and Practice Pro plans, the part-time or full-time license of an additional practitioner depends only on their appointments.
  • No limit — you can create as many Busy and Other events as you need, on every plan.
  • Tasks too — the tasks you add to the scheduler are not counted either.

Events from your Google or Outlook calendar

When you synchronize your scheduler with Google Calendar or Outlook, the events of your calendar appear in your Colib scheduler as Busy or Other events. They are not counted as appointments and are not billed. See How to sync your Colib scheduler with Google Calendar or Outlook (two-way sync).

Good to know

  • Cancelled appointments — cancelled and late-cancelled appointments are not counted either. Appointments marked as no-show are counted.
  • How plans are billed — see How does payment for Colib plans work?
